It's not that hard to create a kids bedroom that feels really special and reflects their personality.
Transform any children's bedroom or playroom at minimal cost with a few carefully chosen kids room accessories and decoration. Pillows, bedding, wall art, mirrors, rugs and funky kids ornaments all add that something special to decorate a kids room. Start with the basicsFor the walls – If you want this to last then it's always best to paint your room a neutral colour such as off-white or cream. This then gives you your blank canvas to start adding colour and you do this with your decorations and accessories. Why not try adding wall art or murals to give you colour, that is easy and quick to apply, and can be just as easily removed when you want a change. On the floor - Again go for a neutral light colour or a traditional dark colour that won’t date and is easily cleaned; hard wooden floors are great for this. Then add a large rug or play mat to give abit of colour and softness on the toes. Childrens Bedroom FurnitureChoose a classic solid wood furniture that will last the test of time and can grow with your child. If your child’s bedroom is also their playroom then choose some funky furniture that is great for storage. Lots of storage boxes are key to a tidy bedroom so don’t forget a good sized toy box. Childrens BeddingSo your probably going to need to change the bedding every couple of years, so you might as well get them something trendy and modern. Whether your child is into fairies, lions or action men it will always determine the theme of your room. If you can get away with a plain colour then great but don’t forget you can always use a nice throw or quilt over the bed to disguise anything too unsightly. If your child is at the age where a wet night is becoming a headache then protect your mattress with a waterproof fitted bed protector. Decorate and AccessoriseThis is where the fun begins… personalizing a room in seconds and at a minimal cost because lets face it your child changes as much as fashion and trends. Whether its ornamental or has a practical use, it all adds to decorating a kids room.
